Everyone has heard of BCE (more commonly known as Bell) as one of Canada’s largest telecommunications companies. The firm is known for its unrelenting focus on innovation and being the “King of Content” with investments in their broadband fibre and wireless network infrastructure surpassing $4 billion a year, and significant investments in many of the iconic entertainment and sports brands we know and love.
The company’s brand and market share are so powerful, the company advertises that one in every three Canadians work or will know someone that works for Bell in their lifetime. Now that’s impressive.
What is even more impressive is that they are interested in making UTM one of their target schools alongside the Ivey, Rotman, and Schulich schools of business.
In the last two weeks the company has come out to campus twice to advertise their Grad Leadership programs in Accounting/Finance, Business Intelligence, Consumer Markets and Media and other avenues to students interested in a full-time role with the business.
Recruiter Francesca Dorado, and recent finance graduate Natalie Ianiello were two of the UTM alumni present at the networking portion of the session, sharing their UTM memories and experiences with the students.
In the next networking session, former Student Management Association (SMA) president Kaitlyn D’Lima inspired others with her stories from her summer internship with Bell’s Consumer Markets and Media practice.
With presentations made in front of senior management, and what she described as “exponential growth throughout the summer term,” Kaitlyn knew Bell was where she wanted to be after graduation.
Everyone at the event mentioned at one point or another how they see their work impacting the company, and creating tangible results within the community – which is something they are motivated by and are empowered to do at Bell.
So, as the application deadlines close, will you be the next person I know working for Bell?
